It’s a reboot, not a remake
It’s a reboot, not a remake would even go as far as to say is a reimagining but then again what’s the difference. Well, let’s break it down, according to Edward and Andy Suriano one of their personal mandates for the show is that it must be completely unexpected.
This means no retelling of old stories. If fans know what’s going to happen then what’s the point. There are no backstories
Second, there are no backstories. Thus far we’re literally starting at the beginning of the turtle’s career. They’re not heroes in a half shell just yet in fact they’re not even good at what they do but they’re starting to figure it out.
I’m along for the ride hence the series name rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles get it and finally, there’s an all-new fantastical element quite literally.
What we mean by that well the turtle versus always been heavily based in science fiction from mutating who’s to aliens and even a multiverse. However, in an effort to shake things up there’s no mystical element of fantasy as mysticism seems to play a pretty big role in the new lore.

Art direction and animation style.

So Die Hard fans can rest assured as much as these new turtles are different. They’re still very much the same the redesigned stay true to the heart of the beloved characters.
Did someone say superweapon of course with all new turtles come only weapons but don’t worry superfans? The new weapons are vastly different from the originals and again these changes make complete sense for these characters.
In this version of the turnovers. In fact some of them even pay homage to the original Mirage comics how cool is that I know we’re all too familiar with the iconic weapons.
The US trying to Tana’s rest when site Donnie’s both staff and of course my he’s not shocked. Rise of the TMNT takes things up a notch with only weapons that played to each turtle strings but now we have the US extra cool but extra frivolous dachi sword Donnie rocking the tech Bo staff with his own personal high tech upgrades.
Can someone say go-go gadget staff RAF sport in the twin Tom says and Mikey with sorry rather make use new weapons are actually cool nods to their original training weapons used in the original TMNT Maraj comic the passing?
However, that’s not the only modern spin rise that has brought to the table these new weapons actually possessed mystic powers as we touched on before these new weapons played each journal’s strong suit. Each power tells you something about that turtle.

So they can jump right into new exciting territory still aside from a few personality tweaks in design changes. She definitely gives off an authentic April O’neil vibe right down to the iconic yellow outfit.
For the first time in an animated troubled history, April O’Neil is African American you may even notice on the back of her jacket.
The unofficial Ninja turtle
The number 5 is a tribute to the fact that in this version of the TMNT apples actually considered the unofficial turtle. We’re introduced to a refreshing new take on master splinter later in the same episode when the turtles confront their sense.
I’d ask a favor right off the bat you’ll notice one major design change that really solidifies the new family-focused character dynamics of the show. We’re talking about that sweet sweet dad body. That’s right.
Splinter still practices martial arts and yes he’s still the turtle sensei but he’s their dad first and foremost you don’t just raise teenagers and a sewer without any real repercussions. At least that’s how the engine and he felt when considering the new design seeing as how they’re both dads themselves.
It felt like a more interesting choice to explore the funnier side of being a father it also gives the staff writers a chance to makes wonder about the kind of dad who makes a dad joke.
But not only is he funny looking but scripture is friggin hilarious especially when it comes to interacting with his kids also another fun side note splinter is voiced by Eric.
I was apparently he was so well received as tiger claw on the 2012 series that he didn’t have to audition for splinter pretty cool right never before seen villains.
If you’re a fan of the franchise you’re probably wondering what changes are in store for the infamous villains of the turnovers. Since this is a Charles origin story. They don’t want to retell stories that have been told time and time again it’s a villain that has already been explored.
New unique villains in ninja turtle
We don’t know when or if we’ll see them in this rendition. This includes crank shredder or bebop and rocksteady. However, engine and he made it clear that anything is possible. So far all of the billions we come across are completely original to rise.
They’re also mostly mutants and monsters an aspect that is very reminiscent of the old eighties cartoon. These new unique villains feel completely authentic to the franchise such as barren Jackson.

We’ve got the all too familiar foot clan up to their usual treachery engine and he told us some super fun facts 2 of the foot clan members are voiced by rob Paulsen Emory.
Small marsh the 2 talented voices behind pinky and the brain should make for some pretty hilarious hijinks tons of references and Easter eggs rice could be described as sort of a where’s Waldo and the turtle franchise.
There are dozens of Easter eggs hidden throughout the series from fun references to previous versions of the turtles to random tributes to other popular titles inspired by the creative team.
