Another thing you’ll need to cheque more often is the soil. At some point, your garden soil loses its quality so you’ll need to buy fresh ones from a local supplier. Furthermore, some plants won’t survive with a certain ph level of soil, so you should move things around if it becomes too acidic.

However, to prevent the soil from degrading, you can add an appropriate amount of fertiliser to sustain the quality. But when you’re adding some fertilisers, make sure that you’re not stressing the plants around. Otherwise, this process might just worsen the situation.

When checking the quality of the soil in your garden, you can ask for professional help. On other hand, you can also buy a soil testing kit that indicates the ph level of your garden soil.

5. Clean the garden tools

Although you’re dealing with plants, you should still care for them the way you would care for your pets. That’s why you must clean the garden tools regularly. This prevents the spreading of diseases and bacteria from one plant to another.

In addition, this step will also help the plants to live longer. You’ll not always know which plant contains diseases so it’s best if you always keep the tools clean.

6. Rearrange the potted plants once in a while

After some time, you can change the layout of your garden. But this time, you’ll be going to need some help from a professional gardener or an arborist since they have the expertise in transferring plants and trees.
